This anthem for choir and organ marks the 400th anniversary of the great 17th century Divine, Jeremy Taylor, in 2013.

Jeremy Taylor was a student of Caius before going on to greater things. A great preacher and writer of famous devotional books, notably Holy Living and Holy Dying: also a poet, not great at all except in his piety - but the poems are settable to music as the prose is not.

I've taken his first hymn for Advent complete, with a few lines from the second hymn for Advent acting as a refrain. But the purpose is universal: We're always waiting and hoping.
