The Madrigals, setting one lyric by James Joyce and four of Eliot's Landscapes, made a conscious and needed move towards clarification of harmony after the often clouded textures of the Georgian Songs, in preparation for the orchestral commission looming the next year, (one of William Glock's final flings):  Domination of Black.
